April 2021 Update
With summer on the horizon, April was another busy month for our Zeta Lambda chapter of ADPi. We started off the month with our long-anticipated annual philanthropy event, PiHop. PiHop is a pancake supper put on by our sisters benefitting Ronald McDonald
House Charities. Everyone is split between committees to aid in the successful completion of the event as well as coming by the house on the night of the event as hyping each other up! This year through our curbside service we were able to raise over $17,000 for RMHC! After the PiHop festivities died down, the girls found their parents in town for Family Weekend put on by the university. Family Weekend also brought about an exciting day for some of our upperclassmen as they celebrated Ring Day by BTHO 90 hours! As the ladies of ADPi continued their studies as the end of the semester loomed, they were able to take a few breaks with several coffee breaks sponsored by the chapter. They also participated in recruitment workshops to get closer as a chapter as well as get ready to welcome home our newest class of alphas! To continue our philanthropic efforts for the month we hosted a Panhellenic-wide food drive benefitting Brazos County Food Bank which yielded over 585 cans donated. Our chapter hosted several sisterhood events including a hybrid bingo night. Our sisters and their parents were also able to enjoy a networking career fair that connected the girls with their corresponding interests after college. To wrap up the semester, the chapter enjoyed an enchanted garden-themed formal that included some fun superlatives voted on by their sisters. The final official event that both our alumnae and chapter were able to enjoy was a fun-filled Founder's Day that included a panel of sisters as well as some popsicle sweet treats! Our seniors were able to say their final goodbyes as they attended their final chapter meeting and participated in senior send-off. April has been a super busy month, but Zeta Lambda was able to bring back traditions from the pre-COVID era that we hope to be able to continue in the fall! As the girls wrap up their finals and begin summer, enjoy the pictures of sisters who are all following CDC guidelines!
March 2021 Update
If you thought February was busy for our girls at Zeta Lambda, March was even busier! They began the month with an adorable date party with the theme of Daisy Dukes and Cowboy Boots. All the girls had a ton of fun relaxing and playing games with their dates! Quickly afterward, the new sweet alphas were able to share an experience that ever Zeta Lambda cherishes; Alpha sleepover at the Pi Palace. The entire chapter was able to get together to participate in a fun-filled field day for chapter retreat, which included alpha class tug of war which brought out all the girl's competitive spirits. Our sisters were also able to come together for the first recruitment workshop of the year to ramp up for formal recruitment in the fall. March also brought about an exciting event for a lot of the ladies of ADPi as it was finally showtime for the long-awaited Songfest performance. To compete in Chi Omega's philanthropic dance, they partnered with Capital Men's Society and performed a phenomenal routine titled "ADPi, CAPS, and Rock 'n Roll". All the girls had been working diligently since October and enjoyed every moment under the shining stage lights! The new spring alphas also enjoyed a few more ADPi milestones by getting their bigs and becoming officially initiated. The ADPi girls dressed up as Tennis Girls and Golf Bros as they ventured to Southern's for a mixer with the men of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. The students of A&M were given a short break with a spring day where many of our sisters took a break from school life and relaxed with each other. To close out this busy month, the Zeta Lambda chapter hosted a memorable sisterhood event with U Paint It! where they enjoyed painting mugs with their sisters and cherishing the memories for a lifetime. Enjoy our pictures to commemorate the month with some sisters who are roommates and following CDC guidelines.
February 2021 Update
February sure has been a whirlwind month for our girls in ADPi! With a Texas snowstorm canceling classes for a full week, the College Station residents found themselves snowed in, but they made the most of it. Between snowball fights at the Pi Palace to making snow angels, our girls still found a way to enjoy the rarely-seen winter weather! In addition to the random Texas weather, the Zeta Lambda chapter was also able to welcome home 16 new sweet Alphas who were recruited through our Continuous Open Recruitment process. Our COR queen, Kristen, planned several weeks' worth of adorable events where PNMs were able to paint canvases, enjoy a fun Powerpoint night, and get to know our sweet sisterhood. Our chapter also hosted multiple sisterhood events including ADPi is Sweet (we decorated cookies!) and Sisterhood and Succulents. Our sisters were also able to share their philanthropic energies by making Valentine's Day cards for the children staying at the RMHC facilities. To cap the month off, the Pi Palace hosted our spring bid day with the adorable theme "Honey I'm Home". We are so excited to see what March brings us, but in the meantime, here are some pictures of some sisters who live together!
